Final Packaging Design

Here are the final images of my package design for fruit. I have photographed it on a black background to bring out this sophisticated and high end attribute of the product. I am really proud of my packaging design as I have never done this side of Graphic Design before, so at first I was a little hesitant as to what to expect. The part I have found most challenging would be creating the box on Illustrator. Creating the cutter guides and making them accurate was difficult because if one side wasn’t the correct side then it wouldn’t go together properly. I believe this module has helped me gain more confidence in Illustrator as I have never solely concentrated on using Illustrator because I have worked more in Photoshop and InDesign.

Photography is another thing other than creating packaging, which I have wanted to do more of in my second year of University. I have really enjoyed the photography for this module as it has been something I have wanted to photograph. Also the uniqueness of the photography is something I am really happy with and I believe it looks extremely striking.

I created a big package which fitted onto A2 glossy card and then I created two smaller ones which fitted onto A3. This produced a little set of the range of boxes which ‘HiFibe’ do. I placed the logo in the bottom right hand corner of every side and allowed it to breathe by making the image smaller so the logo had more space around it. This also allowed the logo and image to stand out from the black background due to the bright colours. I then place a slogan on the side which reads, ‘A handy way to your five a day’. This added a little more interest to the box and finished it off.

Overall I am really pleased with my design and the way it has turned out. I have learnt a lot along the way which will help me in the future when I am employed. I feel this module has been realistic and allowed me to gain knowledge and an insight into what it is like in the real world, even though it wasn’t a live brief.
