Representing personality

This weeks task was to create a background using the colours and shapes we think represent our personality. To try and express myself through colour and shape was difficult for me as I find it hard to connote aspects of my personality through minimal elements.

To begin the task I decided to ask my peers what colours they think when they see me or speak to me. My friend Dom suggested the colour gold/amber associated well with me because it is warm and reflects me well as I am easy to get along with and approachable. He also said black as I wear a lot of black and it goes well with the sophisticated and stylish side of my personality. Then he said add some white as it would all be too dark and the white would add the shine to both colours which you have in your personality. This led me on to creating this background with all the colours fading into each other smoothly.

I then went on to create another piece of work which I thought connoted the happy and fun side of my personality. I used illuminous yellow squares for this design as I believe this is the colour or happiness, optimism and warmth. I positioned all these squares in order then I had one square rotated slightly in an amber colour. This was because I wanted to connote the fact I am organised and like things to be in order but I am also fun and unique.

Overall I am really happy with these two designs and I believe they strongly connote my personality, not so much through shape but definitely through colour.
